Oshun (“o-shoon”) is the Yoruba goddess of love, sensuality, prosperity and dance. Also, she is celebrated in West African, Brazilian, Cuban and Haitian cultures as the goddess who nurtures pregnant women. Her symbols are gold, yellow butterflies, honey and feather fans. According to ancient folklore she is born of the river.
